At Romex Restate, the choice is huge, as we have 7 accommodations in 4 different ski areas. But, where do you go to spend your winter sports?
In this blog we give a description per ski area and what we think are a number of advantages per location:
The largest ski area in the Zillertal is of course the Zillertal Arena! The area is versatile, family-friendly and snow-sure.
Gerlos is located at an altitude of more than 1,300 meters and is therefore absolutely snow-sure. It is located in the middle of the Zillertal Arena. From Gerlos, the Dorfbahn and the Isskogelbahn take you directly to the huge ski area. The Isskogel lift leads beginners to numerous wide, blue pistes. Advanced skiers can enjoy themselves on the many red and black pistes, undertake endless tours or make challenging descents in nearby Königsleiten. Since Gerlos is part of the immense Zillertal Arena, endless skiing is possible without interruption.
Here you can enjoy more than 150 km of ski slopes and no fewer than 52 modern ski lifts, where skiers and snowboarders of all levels feel at home. An almost 100% snow guarantee and skiing up to 2,500 meters above sea level guarantee perfect winter sports for the whole family. The Zillertal Arena is a winter sports paradise for young and old. Gerlos is a cozy and authentic ski village and very popular among the Dutch. With its main street full of different cafes, bars and cozy restaurants, Gerlos also offers fantastic après-ski opportunities. Legendary are the “Cin-cin” and “Little London”.

The unmistakable silhouette of the Kitzsteinhorn makes the “White Mountain” the symbol of the Zell am See-Kaprun region. The Kitzsteinhorn Glacier and the Schmittenhöhe ski area of Kaprun guarantee a fairytale winter sports holiday for young and old. About 30 mountains with a height of more than 3,000 meters allow you to experience all facets of the Alps. The Kiztsteinhorn Glacier is absolutely snow-sure. In addition, the “Gipfelwelt 3000” is also an experience mountain that is accessible all year round.
The Europe Ski Region with Kaprun – Zell am See is one of the most famous ski areas in the Austrian Alps. The ski area is very varied and something for everyone. Beautiful, wide, blue and red slopes for families with children, intermediate skiers and snowboarders, but also with tough mogul slopes and black runs for the real professionals among us.

Everyone feels at home in the Wildschönau ski area. This is partly due to the geniality of the villages in the Wildschönau, such as Niederau, Oberau and Auffach. Everyone can enjoy themselves on the slopes, both families with children and the real advanced skiers and snowboarders.
Both in Niederau itself and in Auffach, especially the little ones have been thought of. In Niederau there is namely a Dragon-land.
