Kaprun in Winter
In winter, the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier and Schmittenhöhe in Kaprun guarantee a fairytale-like winter sports vacation for both young and old. Around 30 mountains with heights over 3,000 meters provide an authentic experience of the Austrian Alps. The Kitzsteinhorn Glacier is absolutely snow-reliable.
The Europa Ski Region with Kaprun – Zell am See is one of the most well-known ski areas in the Austrian Alps. The area is highly diverse and offers something for everyone, such as beautiful, wide, blue, and red slopes for families with children and intermediate skiers and snowboarders, as well as challenging mogul runs and black descents for the experts. Additionally, there are plenty of cross-country skiing opportunities.
Maiskogelbahn
Nowadays, it’s possible to hop on the Maiskogelbahn in the center of Kaprun. This is a new lift connection that links Maiskogel with Kitzsteinhorn. The slopes of the Maiskogel Mountain directly border the village and are very suitable for the whole family. Moreover, the ski pass for Kaprun is also valid in the Zell am See area. Hence, our apartments have an exceptionally advantageous location in Kaprun.

Kaprun and Zell am See are authentic Austrian mountain villages that have a great appeal to Dutch and other European and global citizens. This makes the area slightly sophisticated without losing its authenticity. There are plenty of cozy hospitality venues to enjoy a meal or drink after skiing. The après-ski options are overwhelming, both on the slopes and in the villages.
Kaprun in Summer
Even during summer and the intermediate seasons in Kaprun, many ski lifts remain open to bring sporty mountain bikers with their bikes to the mountain peaks. There are endless possibilities for hiking trips.
In summer, it’s fantastic to spend time on Lake Zell am See. Not only can you enjoy many water sports, but exploring the peaceful spots along the lake is also delightful. In Kaprun, you can play golf amidst the impressive Austrian mountains at the beautiful 36-hole golf course in Zell am See or play tennis on courts situated among the mountains.
In 2010, Austria’s largest spa and wellness center, the Tauern Spa, opened on the outskirts of Kaprun. Moreover, there are many shops, cafes, and mostly culinary restaurants in Kaprun and the nearby Zell am See. The places offer a rich and diverse nightlife for both young and old throughout the year.
